Aurora Inn Winemaker Dinner - featuring Ravines Wine Cellars
Join us for the first in a series of Aurora Inn Winemaker Dinners.  Once a month, the chefs at the Aurora Inn will partner with a Finger Lakes winery to bring you wine paired with a 5-course menu served in the Aurora Inn Dining Room.

Pre-dinner Wine (Sauvignon Blanc)
1st Course: Fall Squash Flan, Braised Red Cabbage, Sliced Pear (Riesling)
2nd Course: Pan Seared Scallops, Micro Greens, Tomato Cardomon Jam (Chardonnay)
Intermezzo – Green Tea & Apple Granita, Julienne Apple Garnish (Sauvignon Blanc)
3rd Course: Grilled Pork Tenderloin, Crispy Pork Belly, Hazelnut Spaetzle, Sour Cherry Mostarda, Sage Oil (Pinot Noir)
4th Course: Confit of Duck Tortelloni, Swiss Chard, Plum Relish, Black Pepper Caramel (Meritage)
5th Course: Key Lime Tart with Glazed Raspberries and Kiwi Sauce (Blanc de Blancs)

Book Lover's Ball
Join us for an elegant evening that benefits the Aurora Free Library and Morgan Opera House. This year's event features special guest Amy Dickinson, author of the nationally syndicated advice column "Ask Amy" and of the novel "The Mighty Queens of Freeville." Cocktails, a silent auction, dinner, and dancing under the stars to the swing sounds of the Ageless Jazz Band round out what is sure to be an unfogettable evening.

Professor Bruce Bennett, chair of the English Department and Director of Creative Writing at Wells College, will read recent poems about life in Aurora. From the seriously silly, to the darkly serious, to the "stuff in-between", Bruce Bennett's poems are sure to delight. Light refreshments served. 10% of the sales on this evening will benefit local arts and education programs.

Gap Mangione's Big Band
The Big Band sound of Gap Mangione and friends will reverberate in the Opera House for the very first time. The band is made up of three trumpets, three trombones, four saxophones, a rhythm section and vocalists, and includes in its repertoire arrangements from the swing era, to modern big band music, to a cross section of the best in popular music arranged specifically for this group. Sponsored in part by a NYSCA grant administered through the Phelps Art Center.

Skaneateles Festival

The final week of the festival will feature 3 nights of performances by violin superstar Hilary Hahn.

Hosmer Winery 25th Anniversary Celebration
Hosmer Winery is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year. Join the merriment at their fall extravaganza, Some Like it Hot. The festivities will be held outside overlooking their lush vineyards and will include a Basil-Pesto-Taste-Off, live entertainment, local cuisine available á la carte, wine by the glass or bottle, great wine specials and much more. Several local artisans will be showcasing their hand-crafted specialties including quilts, pottery, and hot pepper jellies, to name a few. Bring along your lawn chair and plan to spend the afternoon!

The Merry-Go-Round Theater's second regional premiere of the season features the music of the one and only Johnny Cash. Though he is never impersonated, his remarkable spirit emerges from the characters and experiences that shaped the course of his life and music. The cast leads audiences through a mosaic of the American experience with hits like "Walk the Line," "Hurt," "Jackson," "Folsom Prison Blues," and of course, "Ring of Fire."
